A second Press Conference was held by the 2008 China (Nanjing) Grand Masters in International Chess Invitational Tournament Organizing Committee. They introduced the preparation work for the tournament which would be held from December 10 to 22 in Pukou. They also announced that the 6 grand masters in international chess had signed the contract and would arrive in Nanjing in the beginning of December.
The 6 masters are as follows: World No.1, Veselin Topalov from Bulgaria; World No. 3, Vassily Ivanchuk from Ukraine; World No.7, Levon Aronian from Armenia; World No.13, Sergei Movsesian from Slovakia; World No.17, Peter Svidler from Russia and World No.26, Bu Xiangzhi from China.
In order to strengthen the tournament’s power of influence, the organizing committee will arrange wheel competitions between university students and masters in international chess. The trail will be held from December 14 to 16 in Nanjing University of Information Engineering. (Nanjing Daily)
