The opening ceremony of the Seventh China Potted Miniature Landscape Expo was held at Liangzhou Stage at Xuanwu Lake in the morning of September, 29th. Sponsored by Chinese Society of Landscape Architecture, Jiangsu Provincial Construction Office and the municipal government of Nanjing, this year's Potted Miniature Landscape Expo was organized by Nanjing Bureau of Parks and Woods, as well as the Association of Flower, Potted landscape and Ornamental stone, a branch of the Chinese Society of Landscape Architecture. The whole expo will last from September, 29th till October, 6^th.

Known as the best and most influential potted landscape exhibition event in China, China Potted Miniature Landscape Expo mainly aims to promoting China's potted landscape industry by exhibiting the best of its potted landscape products. The expo takes place every four years. In the past, Shanghai, Wuhan, Tianjin, Yangzhou, Suzhou and Quanzhou all had hosted the expo. As a result, communication and exchanges within potted landscape industry is activated, which contributes greatly to the development of this industry. This year, Nanjing is chosen as the host city of the seventh expo. With this event's arrival, Nanjing will be the only city that had hosted the All China Chrysanthemum Expo, Unique Stone Expo and Potted Miniature Landscape Expo in China.

Including cities from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, all together 109 Chinese cities participated in this year's expo. Various genres of potted landscape were presented: Lingnan style, Jiangsu style, Yangzhou style, Sichuan style, Hainan style, Nantong style, An'hui style, Zhejiang style, Hubei style, Fujian style, Henan style, etc. After strict evaluation and selection, 972 works from five categories including trees & plants potted landscape, mountain potted landscape, miniature rockery, miniature assorted landscape and ornamental fruits landscape, by far the largest number of exhibited works in the expo's history, were finally exhibited at the expo. 20 of these 976works were from Nanjing.

Besides potted landscape exhibition, related activities are also scheduled to take place throughout the expo to assist the hosting.
