According to news released by Liuhe District, the Seventh Jasmine.Yu Hua Stone International Culture and Tourism Festival, a 20-day long festival promoting tourism in Liuhe District, is to have its opening ceremony on this September, 26th. To present the rich cultural and tourist resources in this district, over 20 activities have already been scheduled for the festival.

Known as the place where Jasmine, probably the best-known folksong in China, originates, Liuhe District is also the place for genuine Yu Hua Stone. The first Jasmine Festival was in 2002. Starting from this year on, the name of the festival is officially changed into Jasmine.Yu Hua Stone International Culture and Tourism Festival. It now consists of 5 sections featuring music, food, Yu Hua Stone, tourism, commerce and trade, bringing all together 29 various theme activities to this year's festival.

According to organizer of this year's festival, a series activities incluidng singing competition, firework ceremony, Liuhe District Gourmet Month, Yu Hua Stone Exhibition, etc, to be added to engage and encourage participation from the public. In addition, forums on Yu Hua Stone and forums on jade in Nanjing will also be held. Meanwhile, Liuhe National Geopark, after two-year careful design, construction and preparation, is to be opened for the public during the festival.
