Nanjing Students to Communicate with International Space Station
As is learnt from Nanjing No. 3 High School, according to the latest notice by National Aeronautics and Space Administration of the US, the amateur station of Nanjing No. 3 High School will be able to connect with international space station on around Aug. 26th. At that time, student representatives of Nanjing Municipality can directly communicate with the astronauts through the amateur station.
Members of BY4RRR, the amateur station of Nanjing No. 3 High School, have won the 1st prize in National Youth Wireless Championship for many times. BY4RRR manages to communicate with the astronauts, because it hands in the liaison application to the headquarters of Amateur Radio on the International Space Station Plan (ARISS Plan). ARISS Plan is one of the youth-oriented scientific, technological and educational projects by National Aeronautics and Space Administration of the US. NASA will arrange the astronauts working in international space stations to conduct direct communication through ham radio with students from worldwide amateur stations with successful application and answer questions raised by the students. At present, more than 200 amateur stations all over the world have joined this plan. ( Nanjing Daily ) |
