At 4:35p.m. on December 17, the AE7222 flight of the Taipei China Airlines took off from the Nanjing Lukou Airport on time and arrived at the Taipei TaoYuan Airport at 6:45p.m. by a shorter new route. This is the first air flight between Nanjing and Taiwan which opens the prelude of Nanjing-Taiwan daily charters.

Our reporter has been informed from some executive of China Airlines (Nanjing Airport) that the new route makes the one-way distance and time shorter by 800km and about 50 minutes respectively from Nanjing to Taipei. The model of airplanes is “Air Bus 330”. About 70 passengers are on the flight on December 17 from Nanjing to Taipei, including some Taiwan businessmen and 19 tourists.

Ma Shengshu, staff of Jiangsu China Tourism Company and leader of a tour group to Taiwan, told our reporter before he were on board the direct flight that though it was his third time to lead a tour group to Taiwan, he was full of expectations. (Nanjing Daily)
