Through negotiations of Railway Department, Jiangsu and Anhui Province, the opening ceremony of Nanjing-Anqing intercity railway will be held on December 18 in Long Ling of Anhui. The length of it is 257km in total. This is the fourth express railway of Jiangsu after the Hefei-Nanjing, Beijing-Shanghai express railways and Shanghai-Nanjing intercity railway. The speed designed will be 200km/h and the condition can meet the speed of 250km/h. It only takes 15 minutes from Nanjing to Ma’anshan after its completion in 2012.

It is said that the direction of the Nanjing-Anqing intercity railway is almost parallel with Yangtze River. It starts from Nanjing South Station, heading west to Ma’anshan through Ban Qiao Town and Jiangning District, and into Wuhu through Dangtu County of Anhui. Then it ends at Anqing Station of He Jiu Zhi line through Long Ling City, along the south bank of the Yangtze River, Chi Zhou City and the Yangtze River. There are 11 stations: Nanjing South, New Jiangning, New Ma’anshan, New Dangtu, Wuhu, New Wuhu South, New Fanchang, Tong Ling East, Jiu Hua Mountain, Chi Zhou and An Qing. Two more stations are in the consideration and they are New Zhong Ming and Yan Tang.

Our reporter has known that after the completion of the intercity railway, the operation time of the railways is from 6a.m. to 12p.m. every day. 60 couples of trains will be operated and the shortest break time between rains will be 4 minutes. The intervals between trains in average will be 15 minutes. The price will be 0.4-0.5 Yuan/km which is almost the same as the current price. Meanwhile, the construction of Nanjing-Hangzhou railway is going to start. (Yangtze Evening)
