The UN EU Economic Committee Meats Standards Symposium (China) was held in Nanjing University of Agriculture recently. Over 30 representatives attended the meeting and they are from the UN, EU, Australia, America, national enterprises, universities and science and research organs.

On the symposium, experts made communications on the following issues: the status quo of meats industry and its standardization in China, the procedure of the UN EU Economic Committee making standards and its function in national meats trades, regulations on EU animals and their importing, and cursorial birds’ standards, etc. Meanwhile, international and national experts carried out a further consideration on the “UN EU Economic Committee Duck Meat Standards” which the Nanjing University of Agriculture took the lead to constitute.
