Looking back the 30-year history of cooperation and looking forward to the bright new future together—Nagoya, the 4th largest city of Japan with picture-like sceneries, became more passionate for its twin city—Nanjing! The two cities have been walking through the past beautiful 30 years together. On December 10, municipal leaders of the two cities and all walks of lives gathered together to cheer for the “Day of Nanjing” in the downtown Green Land Galaxy Square. In the evening of that day, the 30-Year Anniversary of Twin Cities Ceremony was grandly held in the Westin Castle Hotel of Nagoya. The following people attended the ceremony: Zhu Shanlu, Standing Member of CPC Provincial Committee and Secretary of Municipal Party Committee, Liu Yi’an, Standing Member of Municipal Party Committee and Secretary General, Takehisa Matsubara, Mayor of Nagoya and Uezonofusae, Speaker of Nagoya’s Parliament. Besides, Zhu Shanlu, Takehisa Matsubara and Uezonofusae made a speech on the ceremony respectively.

All people present started a new bright future together with beautiful memories and enthusiastic expectations.

On the same day, a mission with 40 people led by Zhu Shanlu attended the 30-Year Anniversary and the opening ceremony of the “Day of Nanjing”. The mission contains people in the line of business, arts, literature and tourism. Apart from the mission, many other people and organizations attended the anniversary and ceremony as well: Li Tianran, Consulate General of China in Nagoya, Tomouchi, Vice Mayor of Nagoya, Industry and Commerce Institute of Nagoya, East Sea Japan-China Trade Center, Aichi Japan-China Twin Association and a 40-people mission of Nagoya which came to Nanjing for the twin city activity in November. Toshiki Kaifu, former Prime Minister of Japan and born in the Aichi, sent a letter of congratulations specially for the “Day of Nanjing” and wished a ever-lasting friendship between Nanjing and Nagoya.
