Nanjing is one of the excellent cities in comprehensive control of environment in China,and its construction of environment infrastructure has been daily adapted to the development of the city. It has constructed over 700 sets of pollution control and harnessing facilities,initially realizing discharge of industrial pollution sources to standard. It has completed projects to clean sludge from lakes and rivers and sewage water stopping systems, and realized urban environment air quality forecast. In the water source area for the water plant of the city, all 12 monitoring parameters meet the standard. The area of natural scenic preservation zone has been expanded, now accounting for over 8% of the total area of the municipality,and protection of ecological environment has been further strengthened.
