Education

Nanjing is one of the four concentrated areas of tertiary education in China. Now the city has 37 general universities and colleges, with nearly 300,000 undergraduate students, 25,000 post-graduate students, and they deliver nearly 50,000 graduates every year. Among them, Nanjing University, Southeast University, Nanjing University of Aviation and Aeronautics, Nanjing University of Science and Technology, Hohai University and Nanjing Normal University are listed among the 100 national key universities by the Ministry of Education.

About 400,000 specialized technical personnel work in Nanjing, including 130,000 senior professionals. There are 71 academicians of China Science Academy and China Engineering Academy in Nanjing. The city has over 30 post-doctoral research stations as authorized by the state.

In Nanjing, over 30 secondary and primary schools, such as Nanjing Foreign Language School, Nanjing Xiaozhuang International School, Nanjing 21 Century Bilingual School and Nanjing Yinghua International School, can accept children at all ages of expatriate employees.
